Have been running my SWG at max level, pump running longer, to keep water at shock levels. Now I need to bring level down to swimming-safe levels

Just tested today (I already turned down SWG from 100%, to around 50% days earlier).

Today I decided to measure chlorine level. It's at 35 (!!). We are hoping to swim in about a week.

I turned off SWG completely (for now). CYA level is currently 70-80ppm, water temperature about 81, and here's Florida weather, so usually sunny. I know sun heat and higher temperature helps burn off chlorine faster, but with 70-80 ppm of CYA, it might slow down the chlorine burn off rate?

I will be monitoring chlorine level every other day or so - but should I worry about chlorine levels not falling fast enough in time for when my out-of-state family arrives here almost exactly 1 week from today?

Thanks in advance.
