For the first time this year we are getting a week in the 90s (starting today) my water is already tipping over 80'F (which is perfect for us). It's been a horribly long month so far with constant rain and cool temperatures. So with that everyone is pumped up to jump in. However... I decided yesterday to shock my pool.... I was just going to raise it up to the upper end due to "thinking" some algea might be forming but tossed 2lbs of shock in. I need to take all of the readings tonight but I have a feeling since the FC levels were already at the higher end it's going to be bad. We are supposed to also have a BBQ this weekend, due to my CYA levels being rather high I am not sure how much "burn off" I will get in 2 days either. So my question is has anyone used a neutralizer to pull things down into "safer" swim levels? I know it's a bit more complicated than that but was wondering if it works if you are careful with it (small additions).
Thanks
