Opened my pool, tested my fc with last year's tf-50 regents. 0.5 fc, my pool is filled to 38" same as last year, about 10000 gallons last year worked great for adding bleach. Pool math said 121 oz of 6% would add 6 fc, I added 121 of the new concentrated 6% bleach, waited 30 mins and got back 13.5 fc. Pool math said 8.25% would add 8.

If the chlorine was completely mixed then trust your test kit, unless your test chems are over 18 months old. Pool Math is a fantastic tool but there are many variables including your water volume estimate, the strength of the chlorine, sample site, etc. So bottom line trust your test kit and most important keep your FC in the target zone or above up to the shock level of your CYA/FC ratio. After a couple of additions and tests you will find the pattern.
