I have an above ground pool filter like this cartridge inside picture. The ring to screw on and off the lid (blk one in middle) is very difficult to spin on and off is there any type or lubrication that I can put on this or a way to clean it to make it easier to take on and off to clean my cartridge filter?

I have a different cartridge filter, but I use some pool silicone lube on the inside threaded portion the knob attaches to. Seems to help keep it from sticking as bad.
Silicon spray also works great on the retaining ring threads of my cartridge filter.
And by that, I mean, put silicon spray on the threads and ring the next time you remove it. It will make putting it back on much easier as well as future removal.

Silicon lube on rubber o-ring and seats helps it compress. Use anti-sieze Or moly disulfide grease on threaded fastner and nut and it will work like butter.
