Hack My Pool

There ain't no teacher like a foulup. The 🤦‍♂️ sinks it in there deeeeeeeeeep. :ROFLMAO:

Don't forget to correct your TA level as it drops. I'm getting 9.9 oz at 250 TA from 8.2 to 7.8.
I’m updating my logs in Pool Math now
And 5001 gallons ? This ain't The Price is Right. :laughblue:
sure it is!!! No one ever lost with that $1 extra dollar! 💰💰

Work on dropping it to 7.2 to help reduce your high TA.
Once it rises to 7.6, dose to 7.2 again until you get your TA down - then keep the pH around 7.8

Here we go… 7.4-7.5ish?IMG_7815.jpeg

I’m almost out of muriatic acid - so if we need another drop, I’ll have to make a Menards run (no biggie).

Thoughts? Keep trying to drop? Hold here and run a panel of TA?

I would drop another .2...this will give you experience. When you get to 7.2, leave it alone until it rises to 7.8, then drop again to 7.2. Rinse and repeat until your TA gets to about 80...then stop lowering to 7.2 and keep your pH 7.8-8.

Repeat after me :

Don't drop the bucket.

Also, how far out of level are you ? I thought a previous pic was playing tricks on me but this one above has the top rail bowed also.

Here’s what happened… I had the feet resting on bricks. And during the fill, one of them slipped. Missed the brick entirely. By time I saw it (next morning) there was too much water to adjust.

Sigh… she’s back… womp womp. The “nuclear football” has made a grand appearance. Fingers crossed this clears quickly. All fingers, eyes and toes crossed this thing doesn’t fall into the pool - who’s with me?!

Anyone want to point me to an article for people who fill using rust-heavy wells - I’m hoping a someone has engineered their way to filtering from the spigot.

I’ll grab a run of panels since the sun is setting soon too.

We are heavily invested sis, don't you worry about that. :)

The problem is that it needs the chlorine to bring the iron out of solution so it can be filtered.

There is an article 'iron in you fill water' in the TFP Wiki towards the bottom of any forum page and in the left sidebar. There's LOTs of relevant reading there for you in your spare time.

The Pentek Blue Filters appear to be something I should read more into - that might be a step in the right direction.

Also - do I need to add more chlorine? My FC dropped pretty substantially...

But thats not the same as the SLAM Target range, correct?
Correct. Slam is adjust to a target, not a target range.

Normal operation allows for the UV to burn off an appropriate amount of FC. Say. You should be losing about 3ppm daily right now on full sun days.

Minimum is 5, plus 3 , plus 1 or 2 for insurance.

lc_chart.jpg

Dose to 9 or 10, fall back to 6 or 7, remaining free and clear of 5.
To go from 2.5 --> 7.0, with 12.5%, I need to add 23 Oz. Sound right?
Yes. But 7 is likely too low. 7-3 = 4, which is below minimum by tomorrow at this time.
