Hey guys! The freeze we had earlier in the month finished off my aging pump and cracked sand filter. Yea!
The pool has been sitting since then and all I’ve done is throw some LC in and swirl it about while I decide what to do next.
My goal would be to have the least maintenance going forward and not spend $1700/month on electricity. The last month that our pool has been shut off, our bill has fallen drastically.
We are still fairly new to having a pool so I’ve been reading here and getting bogged down with information overload. I would love any direction you guys can give me.
Currently have:
Hayward OnCommand (remote doesn’t work)
Hayward Sand Filter S244T (leaking with broken laterals)
Hayward Booster Pump (bypassed when got Dolphin E70)
Century 1.5HP Pump 36119J2 (doesn’t work, leaked so badly that I guess it froze)
Hayward Propane Heater H400FDN (was told it works, never tried it)
Lights (do not work)
We have a slide, 2 skimmers, 4 drains in the bottom, several jets, and a deck with bubblers.
I would like to replace and upgrade the equipment, add a SWG, and be able to use an app on my phone to control and monitor, if that’s possible. I am fine with either a cartridge or sand filter. It looks like all the equipment needs to be able to talk to each other, or be the same brand.
I would prefer to know what I am talking about when I call the pool store. When I originally called about upgrading, I felt a little run over. When I asked about a SWG, variable speed pump and a dolphin, I was told to keep my booster pump and pressure cleaner and I didn’t need any of that other stuff and it’s just fancy marketing. Maybe it is, but I’d still like to upgrade
Thank you everyone!
