Well I vacuumed all of it up yesterday before I raised it to shock level for mustard algae. This morning I didn't notice any however when I raised the FC to shock level for mustard algae. Throughout the day I didn't notice any either.
I asked because dead algae/dirt/pollen/etc. also likes to collect along liner seams and small floor indentations. It is really hard to know what someone is dealing with when those symptoms are present from what James has said.
The only time I actually saw mustard algae it was bright yellow like cheap mustard and was on the shady-side walls. Therefore it was an easy diagnosis.
I am trying to learn along with you as information on mustard algae is still so sketchy in many ways.... and diagnosing it is very difficult.
The algae will bypass a lot of filters. Once, my wife spent over an hour vacuuming our pool using a crappy Intex cartridge filter/pump. When she got to the return, there was a solid green stream of water going right back into the pool. LOL, was she mad.
