Folks,
This past week I noticed that the black wheels/rubber on my rebel had a green "stain" on them. I started to get concerned, but thought maybe it was just the rubber bleaching as it is a new unit I just installed in April.
During this past week, when I went out to sweep my sun and party shelves (which I do because the vacuum can't crawl up either) I noticed a green cloud of sediment coming when I swept both areas. Totally shocking to me, as I have never had an issue with this since I powered up my new pool back in September. I also checked my spa (which is a infinity spa, and only sucks when the spa is on), and it to had a cloud of green sediment when brushing it. The pool itself seems fine, I'm guessing because the vacuum is getting all of that.
Now, the color of the water itself looks ok, so it's not like I have green water. It's just a loose sediment I keep getting. But then, I do have a dark finish so who knows. It looks OK to me.
What is confusing to me, is that all of my levels are spot on according to TFP standards. And my Total Chlorine is not registering any issues at all (.5ppm test, not .2ppm).

The past couple of days I have noticed it re-sediments on those shelves and spa again each day. I did some searching and found a thread about water not circulating much in those areas. So I added a separate schedule for my bubblers on the sun shelf to turn on for 15 minutes each day. I don't have a return on my sun shelf, but I DO have two returns above the part shelf on the deep end, in the corners (rectangular pool). I tried adjusting one of them that points the length of the part shelf to point straight out vs angling more towards the surface (was this way originally to help with skimming action). I went out this am again and saw more sediment on the shelves, even though I ran the pool over night.
I DID try testing the Chlorine with a sample from the sun shelf directly. It showed a FC of 8.5 (I turned up my SWCG a bit last night), but still no TC (0).
So....testing is not indicating any kind of problem what I can tell. Could there be something precipitating into the pool I am not aware of? I wouldn't think so, because even during pollen season that collects on the surface and is a bear to get all skimmed out until season is over.
Do I really need to shock the pool right now, given my testing is coming out OK? Or should I just run the pump 24/7 for a while and see if it gets any better?
