Green pool after shocking

You can post a pic of the water, but it sounds like iron. You on a well? Put some polyfill in your skimmer if you can to try and capture as much iron as possible. Besides that you might tell us why you felt the need to shock. Do you have algae?

I added liquid chlorine because after testing my water this morning my FC was 0 and the water wasn’t looking like it normally does. Also why do you suppose it turned green all of a sudden after having the pool for 2 years and never having a problem. Yes we have a well. So confused.
It’s not gonna look very green to you but compared to this morning it’s definitely got a green tinge

If you have iron in the water, it's either in solution or in suspension. In solution means it's "dissolved" (for lack of a better term) into the water. You can't see it at all. If it's in suspension, it has come out of solution and is making little particles that can be seen either as stains on the pool, or as a green/brown tint in the water.

Raising FC will cause iron that is normally in solution to precipitate out into suspension, making it show.

The good news is that while it is in suspension it can be filtered out. (While in solution the only way to get rid of it is to change out the water.) So if you put polyfil in your skimmer as Pat mentioned above, it'll grab the iron particles in suspension and you can rinse off the polyfil and get rid of it.

Once the FC falls lower it might go back into solution. This is good as it will make the water lose the green tint, but it's bad in that if you have to raise the FC again later, it'll go green again as the iron comes back into suspension. So if it were me, I'd keep the FC higher and use the polyfil to get rid of as much iron as I could with the FC elevated.

How do I know what this greeny yellow stuff is on edges of Pool? It will not come off. I’m assuming it’s mustard algea? But I’ve tried numerous ways of getting it off and not having any luck

Did you try rubbing the stain with a Vitamin C tablet? If not, I would do that first.

Now would also be a good time to see a full set of water test results from either a TF-100 or Taylor K-2006C test kit. That also help us pin-down the issue.
