Green battle

I had water tested at pool store last week. Add some muriatic acid, shock. I did some algecide as well to cover my bases since pool was getting a bit green. I have been waging a on again off again battle against the algae since then. I was going to do weekly shock today due to adjustments being dine at end of last week. I have been vacuuming every other day with a smidgen of algae clinging to the bottle. Water looked great a couple days ago. I skipped pool time yesterday. Today the water is a murky green pool. I use test strips. Cya never seems to be anything but zero. Pool store testing when done never indicates action to be done. Alk is about 80.ph maybe 7.8.both chlorine levels are 0. Total hardiness is 250. Pool math app said to just add 34 ounces. Seems kind of a small amount.

I have a 10,000 gallon above ground pool.

Does that recommendation seem correct? I do need more stabilizer? Add algecide? Help!

Welcome to the forum!
You need to follow the SLAM Process. To do that, you need a proper test kit. I suggest the TF-100/Pro or Taylor K2006C. A proper test kit is needed to get the accurate water chemistry results needed to follow the TFP protocols.

While you are waiting on your test kit, add 5 ppm FC worth of liquid chlorine / plain bleach to your pool each evening with the pump running. This will replenish the FC lost each day to the sun and also inhibit any algae in the water from growing further.
I suggest you read through Pool Care Basics - Trouble Free Pool and even look at a few of our videos TFP-TV - Trouble Free Pool
