Granular chlorine after closing - safe on concrete?

I have a concrete pool. Is it safe to add granular chlorine (70% cal-hypo) after it's been closed and is it a must that I circulate the water with a sub. pump? This year I closed early and I want to top up my FC ahead of winter but don't want to keep a partial jug of liquid chlorine in the house. Thanks.

You cannot add cal-hypo to a pool without circulation. It will drop to the bottom and bleach your finish. It is also discouraged to add liquid chlorine, though this is less likely to cause the same level of damage.

Just leave it and deal with it in the spring.
