Good sump pump?

I'm looking for a pump I can basically leave on the top step of my pool if I go on vacation that will pump out water when the pool gets too full. Needs to have automatic shut off and be submersible. Just looking for something I can plugin to an extension cord and use a garden hose for drainage. Anybody got a good recommendation? We get a lot of rain during the summer which is why I am looking for one. Thanks in advance.

The issue I see with this is rust. Sump pumps in general are not made from stainless steel. There are many sump pumps that have a float on them which will work for your situation. But I would be concerned with the impeller rusting and staining your pool surface.

Aren’t there pool cover pumps made especially for a similar purpose?
