Going To Install A Hayward SP1091LX Dyna-Skim Above-Ground Pool Skimmer

I posted last night about how I was going to install Hayward 1-1/2" inlets and returns holes in my Intex 15' x 48" Prims Graywood pool. I finally got the go ahead to also cut a hole and install a Hayward skimmer from my wife after showing her a video on how well this works.

So since I had a a lot of suggestions and support and reassurance from people from my first post I figured I'd post again about this topic.

I would like to know some information on how to install this skimmer. Also can I install it right up against the top of the liners seam (the top of the skimmers cover plate against the top of the liners seam on the outside)? Only reason why I ask this is because I don't want to lose to much water in the pool.

Plus would it now benefit me to make one of the intakes a return now and now have two returns and two (including the skimmer) intakes?
I am thinking about putting the skimmer on the wall just next to the last intake but on it's own wall. So it would be skimmer, next wall would be a intake, next wall would be the intake made into a return, the next wall after that would be the original return. What do everyone think?

And I'll be hard PVC piping all this in by the way.

Also any suggestions on if the skimmer should be in the middle of the wall or off to the side? And any suggestions on how to install too please?

This is what I'm getting by the way, lol:

And my pool is a 15' x 48" Prims Graywood 2020 pool with two intakes and one return. The pump and fliter I got is a Game SandPro 75D.

Thank you all again for your help on the first post which I'll be cutting those intake and return holes tomorrow or Friday. And I hope you all will be able to help me with this skimmer to.

I'm so glad I joined this forum.
Thank you again.

I did exactly that and hooked a poolvergnuegen into the second suction side port :)

Use a soldering iron to cut out, works perfect and no way to accidentally cut to far with a blade

With the addition of these unions to make it easy to remove if ever needed..

the above union also works on the skimmer

Using soldering iron to cut = genius.

Most will say not to cut through a seam, so I installed mine where the top screws would be just below the seam.

I didn’t make a second return, but I wish I had, for better circulation. To figure out best location for skimmer, turn on pump and toss in a couple of ping pong balls and watch your flow pattern. You want your skimmer to be where debris gravitates.

I have a bunch of pictures of my install in the link in my signature if you're curious. I did not drain to do the install, but I'd say it would definitely be easier to drain about 6" so the water is below where you are working.

My pictures show where I attached the skimmer in relation to the seam.
