Hey folks, going out of town for 4 days. Should I do any proactive dosing while I am out or let it ride.

Currently...
FC 8
CC 0
PH 7.8
TA 70
CH 320
CYA 55-60

Inline chlorinator has been off due to high levels of CYA. Using on liquid chlorine. Just brought FC up to 8ppm tonight - was a little low.

Should I add a bag of shock to the pool while I am out in case the FC drop due to heat in North Texas?

Thoughts?

You could take FC up to slam level (24) before you leave. That should keep you out of trouble on a 4 day leave.

How much does your PH normally rise over 4 days?
Give the chlorine plenty of time to circulate before turning off the pump.

pool is newer so I’m sure the plaster contributes to the rising PH. Plus I have a few water features.

Lower your pH to 7.2 and raise your FC to SLAM level based on your CYA before you leave. Deal with what you have when you return.
