I've had good luck with cotton terry cloth type hand towels in the skimmer baskets. put that in first then the polyfill. the iron really "sticks" the the cotton well, and it keeps the polyfil from sucking through the basket.

That seems to have worked really well! No brown yet and testing at 0.0ppm for iron. Thanks for the help!
