Getting rid of algae stains

The night before we left town for vacation, we noticed a pretty significant leak in one of the pipes. With no other alternative, we called the pool co to repair and turned off the pump so that it didn't run dry before the leak was repaired.

When we got home a week later, there was, as expected, some algae growth ( it was about 5 days until it could be repaired due to the Labor Day weekend). Most of it brushed off the sides easily and the water is now back to clear sparkling blue. However, there are still some green stains on the side.

Is there any way to dissolve these stains? Do I just need to brush harder? Or is it just a matter of time and letting the chemistry do its work?

I'll add that we have a SWG.

Thanks for any help!
