Getting no suction at skimmer

G,

Just to make sure..

Are you guessing the amount of suction at the skimmer by how it looks, or have you actually stuck your hand down under the basket and felt the suction at the pipe in the bottom of the skimmer?

I like Mark's idea/question about what happens when you run just one input at a time... What happens to the water in the pump, and what happens to the filter pressure, and what happens to the flow out of your pool returns??

Thanks,

Jim R.

No, that is not the issue.

If water only travels in one direction in that pipe, that could indicate there is a check valve inline. But that also means water should be drawn into the pump from the skimmer.

If you close each of the lines separately, does the pump lose prime or suck in air? If so, that could be a leak in the line.
If i close the main drain line the pump dont suck in water, if i close the skimmer line the pump still sucks

Ok that means the skimmer line is clogged. But what doesn't make sense is that the drain king seems to push water through at least in one direction.

Do you see a check valve in the skimmer line?

It sounds like there is something in the line. When you flush from the pump to the skimmer, have someone look into the skimmer hole and see if they can see anything in there.

At least that is progress. Pressure is really all you should need. Are you using a really long hose? A shorter or larger diameter hose will create more pressure/flow rate.
