getting exactly 10ml in the testing kit for measuring chlorine

I also use one of the Leslie's bottles that are good for squeezing a lot or a controlled small amount at a time. I hold it up at eye level (against the window if daytime or the white wall if not for best visibility), and get the bottom of the meniscus to the line (that's the proper place to measure, from what I know and have read). That's pretty quick and consistent for me, so I haven't really felt the need for a SampleSizer (I do my testing inside away from the pool, so I have to gather water in something bigger anyway)

In the end, the most important thing is to be consistent -- if you're 0.5ml off it's not going to matter that much (a measured 5ppm might really be 4.75 or 5.25ppm). But having repeatable consistent results is a good thing (e.g. when doing an OCLT or similar).

As others mentioned, the SpeedStir is the real deal. That changed the game from something I was averse to doing (due to being a perfectionist plus pretty much not being able to walk and chew gum at the same time), to a fun task I enjoy doing after sundown each night. It's become a ritual.

I was able to even enhance things further: I bought extra test tubes and stirring rods. Now I can test FC, TA, CC and SALT all in one sitting (when needed) back to back, without having to wash anything in between. Most nights I'm just reading FC and PH, but it's nice that the rhythm is now down to:

- Fill Leslie sample bottle enough for intended tests
- Start Apera PH60 reading pH. The drop test is fine too, I just like the independence from FC and temp variables and it's both easy and fun to use. When kept in storage fluid, it seems to always gets a stable reading within seconds.
- Do FC test.
- Do TA test if I've added lots of acid lately, CC and SALT if it's been a few weeks.

The odd man out is CYA. I didn't realize how important it is to do it in daylight, like in their videos, with your back to the sun. I regularly got readings of 20-30 indoors in the evening, but 55+ in full sunlight. So this one I have to time differently than the other tests.

The only time I use a syringe is to inject testing dye when hunting down leaks.
