Been fighting this for two weeks and turned the swamp green into a light tan. I can’t get past the light Green/tan cloudy water though.

About to put in 3 gallons and 2 quarts of liquid chlorine according to pool math. Made great strides initially but haven’t made any progress the past week.

Current numbers
Sand filter
Cya 35
Ph 7.8
Cl 0
Alk 80

Get one of these ordered today. You need it. Link-->Test Kits Compared

Add 5ppm of liquid chlorine per day until your kit arrives.

Follow the process I'm linking next. If you only check once a day, it won't clear. You need to check/replace more often, but no more often than every 2 hours.

You need to print the process out, read it three times and keep it with you. When the kit arrives, follow the process:

Thanks. I have the chlorine drop test. I didn’t realize it would measure free chlorine that high. I’ll start that and test and add chlorine as need 3x day.

Run filter 24/7. Brush pool. And back wash as needed.

it’s 4pm right now, should I slam it now or wait until the evening.

Slam every chance you get, even late into the night. No more often than every two hours.

I slammed 7am to 11pm, every two hours, my first and only slam...but I had July 4th weekend looming...lol

Adjusting pH is part of the process. You need to lower pH. Did you print the instructions out? Having them with you really helps!

Before you start, post a full set of test results using your kit...or are the tests in post one from your kit? What kit do you have?

Yes, after you lower pH. Give the muriatic 15 minutes to circulate with pump on and retest to confirm pH has been lowered, then SLAM. Your target FC is 16.
