Hi, just opened my pool this week and now it looks like a snowstorm is supposed to come blasting thru on Friday and Saturday along with temps below freezing. Should I be concerned about pipes freezing up or damage to my skimmer?
It takes a very long time (many days) for pipes below ground and the skimmer to freeze. However, above ground is more vulnerable and can freeze if temps remain below zero for more than 8 hours. If that will be the case, then you can either run the pump the entire time or drain the above ground plumbing.
Thanks! During the day it seems like it'll be close to 50 most of the time and then at night dipping down to the low to like 29 a couple of nights. I'll prob just keep it running the whole time just to be safe.
