Hi all! Hopefully someone can help. I'll post pics as well so that you can see what my equipment is and the messaging. I have a Hayward 2 speed and an Aqua Logic panel. I live in Roseville, CA which doesn't freeze or snow. It's about 20 mins from Sacramento if anyone needs a reference. So I don't think I need the freeze protect enable (currently disabled) according to other post on this forum. Little details. Currently pump is scheduled to run from 630am - 1030am. I have Aux 1 and aux 2 set. Aux 2 is my pool vac and aux 1 is a waterfall we have. In this schedule I have Aux 2 (vac) set to run from 630-930 (lots of tree leaves on poop floor). Aux 1 is off. Here is my issue. For the last week the pool pump has been turning on by itself around 2 or 3am and everything running. Aux 1 and aux 2 running. Whenever I try to turn off the waterfall, it keeps giving me the message that Freeze warning button inactive. Not sure what that message means but currently any freeze settings are disabled. Aux 1 freeze disabled. Aux freeze disabled. Filter Freeze Disabled. At the actual pump itself, freeze protect disabled. Yet its still happening. Not sure why or how to stop it. Waterfall is loud so having it on at night wakes everyone up. Help!

The button means that the system in on to try and protect the system from freezing. Don’t know how to disable that though. Is your waterfall valves such that you can disable it?

Freeze protection typically actuates at about 38 degrees. Its been in the lower 30's here (Sacramento) at night and that will actuate the system. Not sure how old your system is, but the deactivation circuit may be defective. If you are not using the waterfall, trip the breaker to stop the noise. Wouldn't hurt to drain the waterfall pump just in case of freeze while the breaker is tripped. Not sure if you were here in 1990 and 1996 when we had severe freeze damage on thousands of pool in the area because "it doesn't freeze in Sacramento." Also, in the winter, it helps to just have the equipment run from 2:00AM to at least 8:00AM, the "freezing" hours, and not worry about it. Mine's been doing that for 30+ years with no issues.
