My Intelliflo pump’s freeze protection is causing pump to cycle on and off during a recent cold snap. The pump switches back and forth between pool and spa. After the spa runs the spa water level falls. After a whole night it goes from full to 8-10”s low. I would rather not risk pump damage by disabling the thermal protection. Is there an adjustment I should make to one of the check valves to prevent the water from getting back to the pool?

Welcome to TFP Mike.

That seems to be a common flaw in freeze protection due to the pump running while the valves are turning.

I think the best strategy is to turn the actuators off using the toggle switches on them and adjust the valves so they are open to the pool and spa. Let return water flow to both the pool and spa when freeze protection turns on the pump. And crack open the suction to the spa so you get some flow fromt he spa suction and the rest of the water will spillover to your pool.

That also keeps you from burning out the actuators with all the switching.
