So my cya is off the charts and I'm doing a drain / re-fill this weekend. I am just switching over to BBB method however, I have about $100.00 worth of United chemical easy PH powder to "raise PH strongly and alkalinity weakly" My question is can I use it? or do y'all think it would defeat the purpose?
I hate to waste the $ but if it will hurt in the long run I have no problem tossing it.
I appreciate any thoughts?
Thanks
That is most likely soda ash, which is useful in certain situations. I doubt you will end up needing $100 worth any time soon, but certainly it has some uses and is worth keeping around.
Sflake, what does the label say (find the active ingredients)? I only found one picture of an Easy pH power from United Chemical, and it's listing the active ingredient as 100% Magnesium Oxide.
It has no ingredients listed on the bag, it says: 2.5 times stronger than soda ash. contains strong base, do not mix with chlorinated chemical product or any oxidizer. Then goes on with instructions. each little bag is = to 1 lbs of soda ash.
