Foam rollers vs brushes

Just received my robot yesterday. It came with soft foam rollers (Wonder brush) as I have a fibreglass pool, as selected by the dealer. But are foam rollers suitable for fibreglass pools or are brushes better? I see conflicting information from various models stating foam rollers are for tiled pools only. Others say the foam rollers are suitable for tiled and fibreglass. My last robot had the brushes and worked better at cleaning in my opinion. Especially the water line.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum.
My Active20 has regular brushes and does just fine on our fiber glass pool. Keeps the water line tile clean also. Never heard of foam brushes.
Our robot easily navigates the rounded corners and our free form pool. I wonder if the same foam brushes are messing with its ability to navigate the corners in your pool.

C,

I have had several different Dolphin robots over the past 15 years... None of them were the M500 but they all had similar body styles with the floating handle..

I now have two S200 robots, and for me anyway, it is a much better design that any of my old units..

One thing I like about it is that it has no handle and it moves along the tile line by forcing water out a side port, which basically moves the robot sideways along the tile. At the same time, it also blows water out the top which forces the robot into the side of the pool and tile line.

Tell your pool builder you are not happy with his old tech and see if he'll get you an S200, 300 or 300i series machine. (Or the upside down equivalent.. )

The S200, which has no bells and whistles, is by far the best robot I have ever owned.

Thanks,

Jim R.
