Floating weir not floating :-)

This has been fine since up to today.

Only set to pull from the skimmer the pressure sucks the floating part of the weir down but it does not float like it is intended to do?

I have tried adjusting flow but still same.

Any ideas?

Steve,

Where is the water level in your pool?

I have the same type of floating weir in my standalone spa, but I have never seen one in an in-ground pool...

I went out and looked at my spa and it appears that it "floats" because it is plastic and has a 2" deep lip at the top that holds a pocket of air. As the float goes up it pulls the plastic pipes below it up..

If this were my pool, I would want to make sure the pipe segments were moving and not stuck together. I would want to make sure the air pocket had air in it.. Instead of air, the lip on yours may have foam in it.. If so, that foam could be water logged..

Something to look at anyway..

Thanks both.

Lift it and checked for any debris - nothing
Emptied basket while I was there - still same problem.

I removed the basked section and just placed the floating part in the ground to see what happens - works perfect!

Connecting back to basked - I have initial problem.

I have resolved by not clicking in the floating part to the basket - it works fine this way, strange!
