We have an inground pool with regular chlorine (not salt generated) and we put a plastic solar cover/blanket on the pool. The people who do the weekly pool chemicals always use a floating chlorine tablet container. We’re wondering how does that work with the solar blanket? If the chlorine tablet container is under the blanket it can’t move....wouldn’t the chlorine damage the blanket? What’s the solution? Thanks!

It is not a good idea to use trichlor for daily maintenance -- but that is not what you asked.
The trichlor should be dissolving and dispersing into the water. It could damage the solar blanket in that area if your pump is not running for an extended time and the dispenser stays in that spot all the time.

Your solar cover is just bubble wrap, correct? If so, don't worry about it. They have a lifespan of only about two years anyway so the chlorine won't shorten it significantly.
Why do you have someone do your chemicals? The chemistry is the easy part! It's the brushing and vacuuming that's brutal on the lower back. The chemistry can be done in a matter of a few minutes a week, done every day or every other as you get used to things. After a month it gets about as mindless and routine as brushing your teeth or setting up the coffeemaker.
