First water test on my own

Hello…I’m just completed my first water test using the TF Pro test kit. For the past three months my pool builder maintained the Water chemistry for me. Now I want to try and do it myself. Heading to the pool store soon but wanted to see what everyone recommended here first. Thank you so much.

Have you added Borates? How did you test 15 ppm Borates?
CYA is measured in 10's. You cannot interpolate between numbers.

CH is quite high for a new pool. Watch that.

Otherwise follow the FC/CYA Levels.

Switch to 10ml FC samples and each drop is 1/2 ppm. There is no need to measure to 1/5 ppm. You'll save 2.5 times the supplies.

Try a hardware store first before the pool store. The stuff you need there will likely be much cheaper.

Borates was a strip test that I got with my pro test kit.

Have you added Borates? Your water will not have Borates unless you have added them.

i would think your FC is a little low
you have not left much of a safety margin for what if's
