First time using the SpeedSwirl: performed 5 tests and acid demand to 20 minutes I'm fully sold on this
15,500 talk plaster SWG pool T 72 degrees
Taylor pH 8.0 Taylor predicted 18 .4 oz muriatic which is less than Leslie's calculation would have been for my 15,500 gal pool. I guess I'll start saving on muriatic acid.
Also, I was unaware that the desired Free Chlorine is dependent on the CYA level (the Leslie's CYA levels varied so much week to week I never paid any attention to it - if I did I would have been adding 5 lb every other week). So I tested Free CL = 5.8 and CYA =60. This weeks CYA is the same as last week's (something new for me). The TFP fCl/CYA chart indicates my water is chlorine balanced. Am I Correct in that assumption?
At Leslie's all they would tell me is Free Chlorine 1-4 is balanced and anything over 4 would burn the eyes and irritate the skin.

So reassuring to be in control. And the water looks great!!

acid demand
No need to run the acid demand test. Use PoolMath: https://www.troublefreepool.com/blog/poolmath/

I tested Free CL = 5.8
Use the 10 ml sample so each drop is 0.5 FC. Saves time and reagents.

This weeks CYA is the same as last week's
CYA normally doesn't vary week to week. Unless you add CYA or you have significant splashout or overflow, it remains almost constant. It does very slowly degrade over time. You don't have to measure it every week.

The TFP fCl/CYA chart indicates my water is chlorine balanced.
Use the "Salt Water Generator" tab on the FC/CYA chart: Chlorine / CYA Chart

So I tested Free CL = 5.8 and CYA =60
That's good! Keep your FC at or above the target FC at all times. There's no downside to having FC slightly above the target.
