I'm not sure what you are concerned about. I provided guidance in post #10 on how to do acid additions to lower pH. Lowering by .4, waiting 30 minutes, testing, lowering again if necessary.

Great, for now, also log your chemical additions so we can see those.
Add again to get from your 2FC to 10FC, 30 minutes pump running and test. Only need to test FC.
Continue to do the adds every 30 minutes until your FC is between 5 and 10. Then stop with the additions.

I bought 17 more. Can I add in more than the project 10ppm in the beginning so i don’t have to keep adding 3 at a time?

I'm not upset, but there is generally a method to our madness. We use processes to keep pool, equipment and people safe.

More is often not better, like this situation, or during SLAM. It will be fine, no worries.

Just a suggestion, but you are going to use a lot of chlorine to get rid of algae. See if you can find 2.5-gallon containers (or 5-gallon ones if you can manage lifting it). In my area, we have Agway. You pay a deposit for the container and return it when you pick up a new one. It is a lot less expensive than buying one gallon at a time.

Got it. I’m assuming I can start it tomorrow? Also, I checked my CYA, they are still below 30. Is that normal after what I just did?

I also checked the ph, it looks like 7.1, is there anything I can do to bring it up?

I’m noticing my flow is a little slow, can I do a backwash on my DE before I slam?

Yes, that CYA got converted into ammonia, the ammonia was removed by the chlorine.

No, leave it, you want it low for the SLAM.

Yes! When you start it up, run the pump on high and not clean pressure. During SLAM, you want to run your pump on low speed, filters better. Every couple hours, run on high speed and note pressure. When pressure rises 25%, clean the filter again. You may be doing lots of filter cleaning.

I was concerned about CSI. Currently in my pool, if I lowered the PH from 7.8 to 7.4 the CSI would drop to -0.70. Probably in the OP case it won't matter much - with his TA the PH will rise pretty quickly.
