First time owner, new to US Northeast - Opening challenges

Pretty sure it passed OCLT last night.

I keep flirting with the idea of adding clarifier but not sure if the chlorine would just eat it lol. We’ve been >20 for a solid week. FC falls very slowly during the day and hardly at all overnight. CC feels 0.5-1.0.
Take your time and do the tests correctly and record results. There is no "pretty sure" and "Feels like." You have the test kit, use it properly and report up!
This is taking a lot of POP lol
Yep, we'll get there. Let's get a couple OCLT passes, then we go from there.

Don't succumb to clarifier.

Week 4? 5? Idk, they’re starting to blur lol.

Still holding SLAM. We’re blue but cloudy. See my pool logs for latest test info. Looks like FC is holding overnight.

Also, not sure what happened but my CYA went from ~50ish down to <30 pretty quickly…not sure if it was my own error or what happened. I definitely didn’t lose 50% of my water tho…

Latest pics are as follows with that last one being from the beginning!

Not really sure where to go from here…

How long has FC been holding overnight. Specifically, how many nights have you passed oclt? (FC loss <1 and CC<=.5?) Logs don't show true oclts...are you doing them properly?
Logs don't show much testing and replacing...how often are you doing that?
Get that ladder out of the pool, scrub it inside and out with 10:1 Water:Bleach...

I have some time off tomorrow, so I should be able to take care of the ladder.

I’ll have to get more prescriptive with my testing. MWF I work from home and have been checking every 4-6hrs. Tu/Th are office days so I check around 6a and 6p those days.

I can start doing true OCLT tests tonight. Does it count as an OCLT if you add the suggested dose of chlorine at/after sundown? (See June 16/17 for reference)

CC hasn’t been above 0.5 for a week or two.

Great, could be an issue. If you have to drill a few holes to be able to clean out the inside...we need to scrub.

Yes. Do every 2-3 hours when you are home, even into the evening up to bedtime. This will make if go faster.

If you wait 30 minutes after the addition, with the pump running and you brush a bit, yes.

Great.

Just a hair above passing OCLT last night…

FC dropped about 2.0, and CC was negligible (likely around 0.1-0.2, one drop cleared it).

I’m noticing my filter’s “clean pressure” is climbing… Brand new, it would drop to about 16psi after a cleaning…can’t get it under 19psi now. I even tried a deep clean with dawn dish soap to no avail.
