Hello all,
So we got our 24' above ground pool this year. For winter closing im leaning toward buying one of the tight mesh covers that will allow rain/ snow to run through. I was planning on also just kind of pulling that fairly tight, and shrink wrap. Of course lowering water level below skimmer and return jet, no pillow. Is there something that you suggest I do differently? Thanks!

I don't like mesh covers for above grounds when there's no deck (etc) to secure it to. At that point, it's no longer a safety cover and it's going to be harder to pump the water under the cover, than it would be to pump the water above a solid tarp/cover. It accumulates either way and your only choice is if you'd rather pump above/below.

An above ground without a deck is not a fall hazzard for kid/pets so a safety cover doesn't make much sense on a free standing pool.

My buddy uses a solid tarp and just siphons off the water each opening. Pretty easy and way less money than my in ground mesh cover. He could use the money he saved and take the family on a snow skiing trip.
