To make it a bit easier to read and less to type, this format works well.

FC 5.0
pH 7.8
TA 80
CH 275
CYA 40
Salt 2800

It's fairly easy to do an overnight chlorine loss test now and then, which is a test to ensure you have no algae which is invisible to the naked eye as it starts out. Overnight Chlorine Loss Test

After doing the OCLT and passing, I would raise the CYA to 60.

It's great getting the children involved in pool care. Just be sure that they're settled and well-behaved while involved. There are risks with testing reagents and pool chemicals. Some just annoying such as permanent staining of surfaces due to a spill, up to eye damage arising from a splash of chlorinating liquid or muriatic acid. Several of my grandies help me with testing at their pools, but I use a rule of one sibling at a time that's been a helpful rule. The keenest one will often have a friend over, and if they join me, she instructs the friend about being careful around chemicals. I love that :)

All good points. They are young so only helping with things like counting drops and turning on the mixer.

got it! The results are just pasted from the pool math summary overview. But I see how it is cluttered.

Good plan in the OCLT and the CYA.
