How does Pentair define a "pool professional"?

Professional Installation – Defined as product installation by a qualified professional who charges a fee for their services, and possesses a business license, and/or contractor's license. Common examples of a “qualified professional” include: Swimming Pool, Home Repair or Landscape Professional; Plumber or Electrician; General Contractor; Heating and Air Conditioning Specialist.

How does Pentair define a "pool professional"?

Find a “handyman” with an active business license and ask them if they would install it. All they have to do is put their hands on it. Have them write you up a receipt and then pay them for their travel time. Then use the receipt to record the warranty info on the Pentair website. All they have to do is touch the box and visually say that the unit was working when they left the home.

Basically, they want an independent third party who can provide an independent opinion about the installation.

They also have a "Partner" Program for pool people and this is a registered authorized reseller, warranty station etc. who has had training by Pentair so Pentair knows that the company has some professional knowledge.

This is exactly what I did for my Jandy SWCG installation. I drew out every electrical connection and plumbing piece. Follow the directions as I supervised it.
