We had our pool completed end of summer last year so this is our first full summer. The learning curve is steep. I am glad that I found this place and have already found helpful tips on the forum. The one thing I a struggling with is getting my Polaris to work properly more specifially climbing from deep to shallow ends. Thanks in advance for all the help I know I will receive in the future.

I got rid of my Polaris years ago, so don't know/remember much about them. But like most pool vacs, they have an optimum speed, and some way to test if the vac is performing to that spec. I believe the Polaris has a pressure tester, and an adjustment for thrust. Sometimes, if you don't have the tester, you can count the wheel RPMs and determine that way if the speed is within spec.

Start here, the manual will explain (or find the page for your specific model):

@ajw22 will have more specifics, I think he has a pressure-side vac.

Welcome to the forum, by the way. Glad you found us. Please fill in your signature. If you had, and had listed the model of your Polaris, you'll get a better answer. Something like mine is especially helpful to our guides and experts.

Welcome to TFP.

Most often with the Polaris is the hose swivel and floats not being positioned as the manual describes.
