the filter and pump are both new and I installed everything according to the instructions and it just doesn’t seem like it’s strong enough
i’m not sure i understand? so move my return jet?Having a skimmer and return close together does not allow good circulation of the water. The skimmer and return should be at opposite ends of the pool.
What model pool is it?

that’s what i thought and I called the company where i purchased the pool from and they said no it comes pre cutWhat make & model pump do you have?
Most all above ground pools are like this with the return & skimmer near each other.
As Kelly said pointing your return jet to the right will make the water flow in a toilet bowl manner around the pool & back into the skimmer.
Most large oval pools usually have two returns to help with this.
Ensuring your water level is correct (about 1/2 way up the skimmer or a little higher) & that your skimmer’s weir door is functioning properly will help.
