Filtering out concrete

If there is concrete solids dispersed in the pool water I would not pump a lot of that through your pump. It is designed to pump some solids, but that might be extreme.

Worked like a charm. I just had to duct tape half of the house of to get more suction. Cleans the whole bottom in 2 hours.
How does the water look? Still cloudy?

My gut feeling is that you are fighting two problems here, the concrete in the pool and a low level algae bloom.

I ran some water tests yesterday and nothing was way out of wack. I added some salt and bleach to get where I need it to be. From there I will dial in pH and TA.
Do I need to worry about when they stain and seal the concrete? I expect some of that will make it into the pool.

What are the current test results, "nothing was way out of wack" doesn't let us help much. I would also do an OCLT to prove/disprove organics in the water.

Yes, I would worry about when they stain/seal given how much concrete has gone in the water.

There was a lot of concrete dust that got stirred up by my sucking the rock out. My pool has been pretty clear for a while now.

After sucking everything out, I filled the pool back up. It dropped about 1.5 ft of water. Last night I tested the water and nothing was too out.
FC=0, pH=8, TA=160, CH=275, CYA=60, salt=2200

Last night I added bleach and muriatic acid. This morning I added salt.

My robot has been running until its full for about 20 hours and it is getting pretty close. I think when I get home from work, i'll suck the rest out through the skimmer and should be good to go for the weekend.

FINALLY!!!!

Now, I just need to get all my equipment and dosing dialed in.

I am going to run my deck jets today to try to get the TA lowered.

Your TA is fine for a fiberglass pool.

2200 salt is low. Increase it to around 3000. How did you measure the salt?

What are your current test results?

Salt is back up around 3100. I added 120lbs this morning.

I added a bunch of bleach last night but my chlorine was still close to zero today. Is there an issue with adding that with either salt or muriatic acid?

121 oz of 5.5% bleach is 4.4ppm of CL. You can lose that much in a day in the Texas sun.

With salt at 2200 I suspect your SWG was not generating any CL.

What is your pump runtime and SWG %?

You need to add 121 oz of 5.5% CL daily until you see your SWG holding your FC at 4.

I had my pump running from 10am to 6pm with my swgc running at 40%. Or at least that's what's on the schedule. Is that long enough? Before I had all these converters problems 30% for the same time seemed to hold it steady but that was a month ago before it got really hot.

Also I just looked at the sight hole at my deep end and it's dry. Also my ground is limestone so it shouldn't move. They had to hammer to get the hole.

As stated above there is always a risk in draining a pool but it sounds like you should be fine. I think it would really depend the type of material the pool was backfilled with. Do you know if it was all stone or did they use the site material?

sounds like a ridiculous unnecessary amount of debris went into the pool and the company that installed the coping should be helping with this cleanup... This way they would be liable for any damage / scratches to the pool.

It may be worthwhile to have a pool service vacuum your pool with a standalone rig like this.

You could build your own depending upon needs and budget.

I’m a commercial winemaker and I use this pump to clean wine tanks when my pumps are in use or I just don’t want to add hours to them. You’d have to probably figure out an airtight adapter for your vacuum hose.

Just a thought.
