Filter Not Showing Pressure

Hi everyone,

I installed a Superflo VSP over the winter and everything is running smoothly, except my sand filter is not registering any pressure. The pump runs mostly at 1650 and that is sufficient for the SWG and heater. I’ve bumped the pump all the way up to 2000 and still nothing, though when I’ve moved to backwash and turn the pump back on, it primes at 3450 rpm and I show 15 psi on the filter.

I’m assuming I won’t need to run the pump that high for the filter to work or am I wrong? Appreciate any thoughts!

My filter pressure is about 1 lb.

Having a very low filter pressure is not a problem as long as you have good flow back to the pool.

Flow is all good, skimmer baskets filling up so no concerns. Thanks for clarifying!

I bought this 30 PSI pressure gauge and it has worked great since 2015... My VS pump runs about 2 to 3 psi normally
