Hello everybody new person here. I have a Haywood filter system and we just got our pool pump replaced so now we’re cleaning up the green water and so forth. However, when we tried to change the cartridge, the lid was fairly tight release the pressure and it came off now it’s a crapshoot on whether or not the lid is going to stay on the knob at the top is snug, but it’s popped off and now my wife and I are a little scared to run the pump. Any suggestions?

Those style filters utilize an e-clip underneath (inside) the lid to help hold the knob in place and to help attach to the rod inside. You may need to pull it apart to inspect. See my thread below for more info. Good luck.
