Enjoying my morning coffee when the pump came on. Heard it sucking air then noticed water below skimmer
Ran to turn pump off and discovered a very flooded pool equipment area. Turned off timer, let the water soak in then noticed filter top loose. Opened it removed filter. Everything looked normal. Put it all back together but top just spins around. Rod screwed in tight to the bottom
feels like it could be stripped at the top. O ring looks fine. Of course this had to happen not only on a Sunday morning but a holiday weekend as well (meaning pitch-a-penny is closed) with company coming for a couple of days!
Don’t understand sudden water loss. No obvious cracks, etc except filter top loose.
Any suggestions for a quick fix?

Welcome to TFP.

What make and model filter are we discussing?

Post pics of your situation.

Check that you have the correct parts buildup.

Did you check the way the locking knob screws onto the tie rod with the filter head off?

Maybe @1poolman1 @Poolbreh has ideas.
