Fill Water Low FC, High CC

Hey all,

I had a quick question about the results from my test of the fill water I plan to use to refill my hot tub.

Here's the results:

FC: 0.5
CC: 1.5
TA: 230
pH: 8
CH: 250

Is it normal for tap water to have a high CC like that? Is this suggestive of ammonia? Should I SLAM after filling and getting TA adjusted?

Chloramines are disinfectants used to treat drinking water. You don't need to treat the tap water. Keep your FC at the FC/CYA levels and the CC will burn itself off.

That's why many water treatment facilities use ozone to remove those sanitation byproducts. I wouldn't drink it, but it should be fine in your spa.
