Hello everyone!

I have been fighting algae for weeks now. We had a ton of rain and heat and our free chlorine levels were non existent, causing an algae bloom. Once I got all of my water levels correct, we shocked (and shocked), used an algae bomb, vacuumed to waste, backwashing, rinsing, all of the things. I haven’t been able to see the bottom of the pool in weeks. Nothing I have done has worked. Attached are my water numbers from yesterday, a picture of the sand (4 weeks old) in the filter from last night and what the pool looks like this morning. I put 4 packs of shock in last night and an algaebomb this morning and this is what we are looking at now.

I am so over it!

Hey KL and Welcome !!!!

I am so over it!
GREAT !!! Following pool store advice brings us most of our newbs. Their 'free test' isn't really free when you walk out with full hands and an empty wallet. The results are as you see.

Check out Test Kits Compared and take control of your pool with reliable home testing.

You'll need to SLAM Process with your new kit.

Welcome to TFP! As you’ve experienced, pool stores business model is to get you in the store with the free test. Then sell you something. Did they solve your problem?

To reliably take care of your pool, you need to test the water yourself. See the links above in Newdude’s post.

Right now you feel overwhelmed, we understand… Chlorine is the solution to an algae bloom, liquid chlorine.

To perform the SLAM linked above also by Newdude, you need a good source of liquid chlorine. You’ve got this. Stick around, ask questions, everyone will be here to assist you.
