Without a salt water generator to produce chlorine, your best bet is liquid. That's what I used for the first 7 years once our pool was dropped in the ground. I used to get HEB's Bravo bleach, then later HD's 3-packs. I installed an SWG in 2019 just before COVID hit and the chlorine/bleach prices went through the roof. Either way, you need one of those for consistent chlorination without the potential side effects. For now, grab a few of Walmart's Pool Essentials. You'll add a little each day or as required to maintain the proper FC level and not have the CYA or metal side effects.I can’t determine a better alternative.
