I am sure there are lots of pictures on this site of fiberglass pools being lifted over houses, but I had never seen it in person until last week when my neighbors had one brought in. I was super impressed with the crane operation. It was a massive crane that took up the entire street. Two supporting semis that brought in weights for counterbalancing, plus the semi with the pool on it. I just thought that seeing pics of pools flying over houses never gets old so I'll share a few here. The last one is the view from my backyard as the UFO landed. My cat was very scared.

Those shells are surprisingly light compared to what those cranes can lift. Its definitely a sight to see, but really little chance of something going wrong with a good crane operator. That video above of it falling on the house looks like it has water in the pool maybe rain water?). That extra weight plus an inexperienced operator can lead to things like that happening.

Yeah these guys were pros and that crane was massive. They spent two hours just adding counterweights to the crane. I had no concern anything was going to go wrong. It was just fun to watch and inspiring to see those guys do such terrific work.

Indeed. When they installed ours they didnt need to go over the house, but it was still awesome watching them maneuver it between some trees and our house and place it right where it needed to go.
