Hi,

Just got a quote for fiberglass pool from aquapools of Houston for a 13 x 27 saltwater pool with spa with propane heater, includes Hayward MaxFlo VS 500 pump Hayward aquarite salt system T-3 size Hayward swimclear cartidge filter system (100 sq ft size) Hayward Colorlogic 320 multicolor LED lights, Hayward 250,000 btu propane heater. Total cost $47,000 includes 3 ft of concrete, excavation, electric, and above equipment. Any advice, recommendations or experience good, bad, ugly would be very grateful. Thanks!

Welcome to TFP.

How many gallons will be in your pool?

A T-3 cell is rated for 15,000 gallons and we recommend at a minimum the SWG be 2X the pool volume. So a T-3 cell is only appropriate if the pool is 7,500 gallons or less.

I would bump up the salt setup to either an aquaplus with T15 cell bundle if you want automation or T15 cell with aquarite if your in hot part of TX. I prefer a 400ish sqft catyridge cam never be too big. The bigger filters have quad cartridges much easier to keep clean.

It's a small pool probably around 10k gallons so they will be fine with a 250k if on a budget. One nice thing with propane is its higher pressure than natural gas so the line size doesn't cost you more just the unit upcharge to go bigger.
