2nd season with my pool. Read alot on here but still trying to figure all of this out. Opened pool 12 days ago, looked like a pond, super green, etc.

Had been adding LC about once daily, about 3-4 gallons at a time. It was clearing but progress was slow and cloudiness was lingering bad. Wife and I got impatient couple days ago, started adding LC & powder shock at same time. Was over chlorinating I know but kinda did it on purpose, which was probably a mistake. Water is crystal clear now but I think FC is extremely high. My question is - is it so high that we need to stay out of it until FC drops? Will FC drop on its own in a few days?

Taylor K2006 test kit
FC = 30
CYA = 60
CC = 0
PH = 7.6

Also remember that solid forms of chlorine add other things besides fc- either calcium or cya.
Trichlor and dichlor are also acidic.
These effects can be problematic and accumulate quickly when the products are used in large amounts to achieve slam levels.
The ph test is inaccurate at fc levels above 10ppm- often reading falsely high.
do not attempt to test or adjust until fc falls.
