FC 7.5 but no CC, Please check my numbers, thanks

Pool Math says
PH - add 8.5 oz of muriatic acid
Salt - add 70lbs
CH - from what I have read it’s not a concern?

note - 12,000 gallon pool, I just added salt for the first time last Friday and ran chrorinator for 24hrs the first day and then 10hrs a day since at 80%, is that about right? 7/40lbs bags is what I started with, you can actually taste the salt, pool math wants me to add more? Will I not taste it so much when I get the correct amount and dial in the % and time being ran? Thanks for any advice.

The more salt you add the more you will taste it, at 2800 I am surprised that you can taste it already..

I am not sure what salt level range your SWCG has, but if you are that sensitive to it, I'd run it on the low end... I'd want to be about 200 ppm above the low end salt level requirement.

I would not add acid until the pH gets above 7.9... Salt pools like it at the high end. I would not lower it below 7.5 or 7.6..

A CH of 50 seems awful low to me, I suspect a testing error... Maybe not, but low enough to test again..

There is no reason to list CL when you test for FC with the FAS/DPD test. The FAS/DPD is much more accurate than the color comparison test..

Our salt level hovers around 4000 ppm, and while you can detect its in there, it is no big deal.

Just don't taste the water, and it shouldn't be a big deal.

Thanks everybody, Sun_Devil how many hours a day are you running your pump and what % do you have your SWG set at. I’m in VA witch isn’t nearly as hot, we both have 12k pools. Thanks
