Could the ecofinish just be taken up the wall and onto the deck to bring the color up to where it meets the water visually?

Those existing railings really do look pretty neat - could you keep the majority of them and just replace the inner sections with glass? Just a thought, probably wouldn't look anywhere near as good as the glass panels with minimal mounting hardware.

Thinking about this it could be possible if you have room for an underground well beside the pool somewhere. Flow over the wall would be caught in a pipe suspended behind the pool on the ocean side and flow into the well instead fo traditional basin. Well pump would be routed to take suction off the basin then tie back in to your current returns. You'd have to cut that side of the pool down to water level also but might be a lot cheaper than full conversion. Details could make this not workable but it is an idea.
