Extended SLAM- pool cloudy

I started the SLAM process almost a month ago and other than one exception where a loose hose led to water loss, water replacement, re-adding stabilizer and other chemicals, the pool looks roughly the same as it did several days into the SLAM. It's blue, but cloudy.
We brush or vacuum daily, test and add chlorine based on CYA levels at least 3 times daily. We back wash the pool filter every few days. Perhaps I'm missing something with brushing since I can't see the bottom, but when I brush very little debris is coming up and there's no visible change in how the water looks.
I know I'm missing something because we certainly aren't passing the overnight test.
I added DE last week (too soon?) and that has been very effective in the past, but it only helped slightly so I wanted to check here before doing anything else. I'm sharing a picture in case it helps.

Are you testing 30 minutes after adding liquid chlorine to confirm you got FC up to or past SLAM level?

Last CYA test I see in your log is 25. We round up and that should be 30.

I see no log entries for FC or 12 or above.

I think you need a bit more CYA and need to be adding more liquid chlorine more frequently to get ahead if the algae replication.

Get that ladder out of the pool, clean it INSIDE and out with bleach:water solution. Leave it out until SLAM is done.
You likely have algae inside the ladder that is continuing to consume your FC.

I believe 25 was an error. And I just rechecked it and it's at 30. Should I go for 40?

I just rechecked it and it's 30. Should I try to get it to 40?

30 is just fine.
I think that you need to get the ladder out, and increase the frequency of your chlorine additions. Needs to be at least 3-4x per day. If you can increase the frequency to every 2 -3hours, you likely will see more progress.

I do actually add at least 3 times but it doesn't always get entered. I have the chart we refer to. I'm going to try 5 times a day for a few days to see if that helps

How much does the FC drop between tests?

Have you seen improvement there ?

It doesn't drop super quickly but it has gotten warmer here in the past few weeks and that has impacted how quickly it drops.
