Expansion Joint between Paver Coping & Concrete Patio

Hey yall! We are pouring our stamped concrete pool patio next week and am looking for advise on how to butt the concrete up to the back of the Paver Coping. Should i add the expansion joints below between the coping & concrete? I'm pretty confident i need something between the two in order for the concrete to expand/contract without pushing and pulling on the coping, i'm just not sure how to make that happen. Thank you all!

Yours falls in the precast coping portion in the article below:

How'd the pool get filled before the coping and decking were finished?

Thanks, so according to that i need to cut off all the rebar coming out of the concrete i poured around the pool and insure there is an expansion joint between the two?

This is a partially buried AGP that has about 18" above the ground (except for about 30' of the where i build up for the patio). We decided to strip off the top of the pool, add some angle iron to the inside and flat iron to the outside to strengthen the top, install a coping track for an IGP liner for when my existing liner needs to be replace, install additional IGP returns, rock the 2" that is above the ground and install paver coping all the way around the pool. Below are a couple of pictures of what i'm talking about, it will either clear up what i'm talking about or add confusion!! It's still a work in progress!
