Has anyone heard of an expansion joint around a round skimmer lid? We are having travertine pavers placed for the pool deck. Someone mentioned placing an expansion joint around the skimmer lid as well the pool beam. I know That we will need one for the pool beam but not certain that we need one for the two skimmer lids. Thoughts? Pros & cons?

I don't believe mine has an expansion joint. Seems to be grouted in. Let me see if I can call a few others with more knowledge on pool construction. @bdavis466 @pooldv @Texas Splash

I've done the expansion joint around the skimmer collar and put a membrane under the concrete to isolate the skimmer.
